Love Builds a Home
The concept of "home" is integrated into the design of the environment, in order to make a “comfortable” and “peaceful” living environment for the elderly. There are living rooms, a dinning room and a gathering corner so that the elderly may choose their favourite place to have gathering with their families and rest in a peaceful and comfortable environment.
By integrating art and spirituality into the environment and introducing various elemenrts of expressive arts, we enhance the elderly's holistic well-being. KYCH has a Garden of Love and Art, and decorates the room with art works, so that all elderly can enhance their overall quality of life through expressive arts in a barrier-free and comfortable environment. There is also a Pastoral Corner, a Silent Prayer Corner and a Hall in KYCH to provide space for peace of mind for the elders. Additionally, there are art works, bible verses etc. hanging around to foster a tranquil, spiritual and comfortable environment for the elders. KYCH also has a Green Art Garden for use of spiritual retreats, flower appreciating and gardening, in which the eldelry can enjoy the integration with nature and spiritual nurturing.

Rehabilitation service: standing and walking training, rehabilitation sports, easing pains, bone density improvement sports (vibration treatment) and smartness and physical rehabilitation training.
Occupational therapy provides rehabilitation to persons with physical, psychological and emotional disturbance with an aim to enhance their self-caring capability, working ability and independence during their spare time. We officially joined the Palliative Care in Residential Care Homes for the Elderly co-organised by The Salvation Army and the Hong Kong Association of Gerontology in April 2010 and we are the only non-subsidised care homes joining that scheme. Under the arrangements of KYCH in 2011, it became the first case in Hong Kong in which end of life care was given in the care home.
The scheme aims at providing service to the terminal case elders and their families and also the provision of “One-stop End of Life Care”. The provision of a dedicated room provides another option for the terminal case elders apart from hospital stay so that they can complete their life journey with comfort and respect under the concept of total-person care for the provision of physical, psychological, social and spiritual care to meet the elders’ needs.

We officially joined the Palliative Care in Residential Care Homes for the Elderly co-organised by The Salvation Army and the Hong Kong Association of Gerontology in April 2010 and we are the only non-subsidised care homes joining that scheme. The living and dinning room is the essential part of the design of the unit and the unit is divided into the right and left wings each with quadruple rooms. The sitting room provides a comfortable and healing “home” environment for the elders and it mainly consists of five elements: “gathering of the elders”, “family gathering” “blessings and service”, “spiritual integration” and “flourishing greenery”.

We grow different plants to make people feel relaxed and provide a green living environment so that the elders would feel at home to enhance their positive sentiment. Feel Like a Home
The living and dinning room is the essential part of the design of the unit and the unit is divided into the right and left wings each with single and double rooms with the theme of benevolence and faith so as to provide encouragement to the degenerating elders that there is love with them and they would lead an enriched life with faith. Faith and benevolence is used to name the rooms to encourage the occupants to have a humble mind and to have truth and faith by relying on our sacred, righteous and merciful God. From then on, the elders would lead a devoted and blessed life filled with virtues and harmony.

Nostalgia Court
The elders’ precious memories are refreshed by the nostalgia commodities which remind them the roots and continuity of life. Their memories help to re-arrange their life experiences for personal affirmation so that they would feel that they have a meaningful life and would take a positive attitude towards their future.
The nostalgia commodities often used include the photos of the demented elders when they were young, photos of their daily life, old photos of Hong Kong, photos of the then movie starts, old furniture, tea wares, utensils, old music, oldies, Cantonese opera, commodities of past festivals etc.

For the elders whose balance is weak, we have training gears with games to train their balance. During the training process, the elders find it easier to exercise for better training effects and to reduce their chances of falling due to insufficient muscular strength and balance power.
